We provide explanations and background information on elections, voting rights and digital democracy
Online voting (web poll) means conducting an online election or voting on a resolution online. With an online ballot you can vote on persons (candidates), or on questions and open decisions. Decision-making is important for all institutions that are governed on a democratic basis or which take the will of the majority as binding in collective decisions.
Vote casting in an online ballot can be done with any device with internet access and this way voters all over the world can take part in the ballot. With POLYAS the secrecy of the elections is also preserved, as no personal data can be linked with the online ballot.
Online votes are legal and allow for binding decisions to be made.
