Voter Turnout
Voter turnout measures the percentage of voters that have actually taken part in the election (proportion of eligible voters who actually cast a vote).
This way votes can be classified into ballot papers which were correctly filled out and those which were incorrectly filled out and therefore counted as invalid.
In certain elections there is a worrying tendency towards very small voter turnouts. Academic and political experts propose various tactics for activating voters, one of which is the possibility of a more comfortable voting procedure, such as in online elections.
